Ynys Mon Bridge Club

Welcome

We at the Ynys Mon Duplicate Bridge Club welcomes all our visitors and new members of all ages, abilities and experience to its weekly meetings which are held in the:

War Memorial Community Centre

Water Street,

Menai Bridge

Anglesey. 

We try to make each Tuesday evening enjoyable for all the players at the club.  We meet weekly on each Tuesday evening between:

7:00pm - 10:00pm

In the club there is one main Director and several other members are directors also.  We issue Master Points certificates to the ones that they should be awarded to.

We operate a clock system in the club.  The clock alarm will go off around 5 minutes before the end of each round.  If the cards are NOT out of the board by then the table cannot play the board without the director’s permission.

  • If you are planning on coming to the club without a partner please phone the Secretary{Mrs. Catherine Spalding on (01 248 362 361)}  beforehand and she will try to find a partner for you.

  • On the otherhand if you are coming to the club with a partner just turn up at the Community Centre between 6.30pm and 7.00pm. 

  • At present the cost of attending the club on a normal meeting is £1.25 for non-members and £1.00 for members.
  • Occasionally the Club participates in competitions when the cost may be higher.

 We play Duplicate Bridge which means that the same hand is played by all the other tables playing on that evening.  In this way every hand, whether good or bad, is played in competition with others playing identical cards. 

 

This means that your results can be compared with those of the other players who played the hands without the 'the luck of the cards' being involved.  If you have not played duplicate before do not worry, it will be explained to you and anyhow it is not complicated!
